P-Burke

Today I got to see Philip Burke painting at
Nazareth College. Man, he really goes for it. He's great.

The Steve Green Duo, and figure drawing.

On Friday, we went to listen to the smoooth jazz
sounds of the Steve Green Trio, playing at the Little.
We were all sketching the band, and a man approached
me and asked if he could buy one of my drawings--the
other guitarist was his step son. So I said sure, and tore
it out of my sketchbook, and he gave me ten dollars.
Fantastic! So here is two thirds of the band.

And here is stuff from a couple of open figure
drawing sessions. I go on Fridays when I can.

*I think all these poses ranged between 1-10 minutes.

Changes Come

I finished this series for my Visual Essay class yesterday.
It was fairly well received in the crit today, and I like it too.
For the next series, I'm going to try making a slightly
longer story--a little mini-book or pamphlet.

A couple morning studies

Some anatomy from Bridgeman., 1/12

I think this was Friday (1/15).
Stu and I came up with creature
concepts based on the shape of a
roll of packing tape.

We've missed a few days. Between
schoolwork and work for Reporter,
there's quite a bit to do.

All from Bridgeman. He draws super muscley people.

1/7,8, and 9

I drew these same skeletons before,
the goat and the cougar--but this time
we also tried drawing the skeletons
of similar animals, photos of
taxidermied ones, that are posed in
different positions.

And this is just a still life, value study and mark
making.

1/4 and 1/5

Well, I missed a few days there, but now
we're back at school. Time to get back into
the habit of actually waking up early to draw.

Quickie still life.

drawn from my own.

Birthday Present

For my mom. Guess my mind's on birds right now.
