Daily drawing practice

Since the first day of the quarter, Stu and I have been
waking up early in the morning to do some drawing practice.
We try to keep it to an hour, and break that up in to different
10, 20, or 30 minute exercises that we make up. We use
the microwave's timer. But sometimes we don't do any of that,
and we just draw a lot.

We've been using ancient wisdom from the sweet pages
of Andrew Loomis drawing books. A lot of the stuff you
see here is copied from them. These books are fantastic
guides on our journey of artistic improvement. We want so
very badly to get Awsome at drawing.

Ussually, it's studying anatomy, or drawing from a still life.
We copy pictures, draw from photos, and stuff from life.
Great way to start out the morning.

I didn't feel like finding/scanning all of my pages,
but here are a bunch. There's probably some unrelated
stuff mixed in with some of these, my sketchbook
is wild and unpredictable.

  1. awesome doohicky you drew today

  2. the wash stuff is also pretty badass. looks like you did those little value studies too.

  3. Word, there are cool sections about technique in the Creative Illustration Loomis book, that's what the wash stuff was from.
